An installation at the Sullivan Museum of Norwich, University - a military history museum - called Gone. 7days review

"One very interesting display was in the center of the room. The original object that inspired the piece was a steamer trunk that belonged to a Norwich Grad of the class of 1940.

The artwork display, entitled "Gone," was a dead tree trunk crafted from Abaca paper and stood over three feet tall.

"This symbolizes the everyday items of a soldier's life packed in a locker box," the display card read. " The memories are all that remain and like the dead tree trunk, they're all gone."

A ironic aside: an official of the university gathered the guests around this piece at the opening for a speech extolling the military with no recognition that it was about the emptiness of war.
