For the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont, we installed an 18 foot long sculpture in the silo of the round barn for the national Paperwork in 3-D show for the 2011 season. There is only one 3 foot tall viewing window into the cavernous silo: instead of trying to fill the space, we used the sculpture to block the viewing window so that it feels as though the piece tunneled through the entire space.
We called the piece Tunnel Vision, although it could have also been called Down The Rabbit Hole.
6 sconces were placed around the exterior of the silo, leading visitors to the tunnel.
Studio-glow lamps are featured in the museum store through October.
