On The Planet: an international exhibition celebratiing 2010 as the year of biodiversity, in conjunction with the UN Conference of the Partners (COP10) to be held there later in the year.
I brought four sculptures from The Paper Forest: a 9 foot tree, 3 curious life forms merging animal/human faces with tree forms and 34 paper masks. These were broken down into packable segments and taken as luggage to be reassembled at the Citizens Gallery in Yada. Aside from the exhibition, we partook in artist's talks, workshops with 50 nursery school children, critiques with the students at Nagoya Art University, visits to artist's studios, symposium and travel. My immense gratitude to Izuru Mizutani, Ai, Emiko Sawargi Gilbert.
