I spent this summer in reisidency at the Grand Isle State Park, interacting with the campers and rangers, and working on three large sculptures. As I stared at the lake, I thought of Ishmael starting off on his great adventure by imagining thousands of mortal men at the edge of the water in revery. I thought, I'll make a few of my own creatures, (not human, nor men, nor mortals) standing in contemplation at the edge of this lake.
In the exhibition, where I can't actually bring in the lake, they will be watching a video of the water, in which they star.
